Millennium Development goals (MDG)

Since the Millennium Declaration in 2000, the MDGs have become important tools of monitoring human progress across nations. The eight time-bound goals are aimed at achieving the following by 2015: eradicate extreme poverty and hunger; achieve universal primary education; promote gender equality; reduce child mortality; improve maternal health; combat HIV&AIDS, malaria and other diseases; ensure environmental sustainability; and develop a global partnership for development.

Since 2008 PADEAP has actively participated in MDGs related activities including the UN Millennium Campaigns. PADEAP was the first organization to approach UNMC with a view of including refugees in MDGs and Millennium campaigns. The organization has successfully organized Campaigns in Kampala and in refugee settlements. This has brought to the limelight the essence of including refugees into the whole Millennium Development Goals process.
